RiverTowne Players Presents Arthur Miller's Death of a SalesmanRiverTowne Players is proud to announce their upcoming production of Arthur Miller's Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece, Death of a Salesman directed by Jeff Padgett. This production will run at the historic Masonic Theatre in downtown New Bern from August 1st to August 10th, 2025.Death of a Salesman is the story of Willy Loman, a traveling salesman nearing the end of his career. Over the course of the play, Willy grapples with the disconnect between his dreams and reality, as well as his strained relationships with his family. The drama unfolds as past memories intersect with present struggles, painting a vivid picture of ambition, disillusionment, and complex dynamics within the Loman family. During the Civil War, it served as a Confederate arsenal and later as a hospital for Union soldiers. In 1917, it was converted into a motion picture theater, operating continuously until 1974, making it the nation's oldest continually operating theatre.

Participants meet Dr. Sue at 8:30 am at Harkers Island Visitor Center and arrive on the sound-side shore of East Shackleford Banks, where they will walk a moderate-level trek off the beaten path to find horses and settle down to watch them. Come prepared for a day in the sun, climbing dunes, walking through brush, and navigating in deep sand.Make the most of your excursion by coming prepared. Shoes that protect your feet and stay on in the mud are required. It is strongly recommended to bring water, lunch/snacks, bug repellent, sunscreen, sun hat, binoculars, and camera with a telephoto lens in a daypack or shoulder bag.

This nostalgic exhibit features signage from the Mitchell Slotnick Pepsi Collection. During the 20th century, signage evolved from its infancy to dominance in the field of advertising. Pepsi signage examples on exhibit include metal signs, 3-D plastic signs, neon clock signs, thermometer signs, calendar signs, die-cut cardboard and die-cut metal, illustrations, and photographic prints. Spanning decades and various Pepsi logos and slogans.
